הזהב קונה את הכסף,
והכסף אינו קונה את הזהב;
הנחושת קונה את הכסף,
והכסף אינו קונה את הנחושת.
מעות הרעות קונות את היפות,
והיפות אינן קונות את הרעות;
אסימון קונה את המטבע,
והמטבע אינו קונה את אסימון.
המיטלטלין קונין את המטבע,
והמטבע אינו קונה את המיטלטלין.
זה הכלל: כל המיטלטלין קונין זה את זה.
English Translation[edit]
Gold acquires silver, but silver does not acquire gold;
Copper acquires silver, but silver does not acquire copper;
Bad coins acquire good coins, but good coins do not acquire bad coins;
A blank coin acquires a coin, but a coin does not acquire a blank coin;
Movables acquire coins, but coins do not acquire movables.
This is the general principle: All movables acquire each other.
