Barker, Robert, was born at Kells in 1739. He was the inventor and patentee of the now well known exhibitions called panoramas, first brought out by him in Edinburgh in 1788. He died 8th April 1806, and was buried at Lambeth. His son married a daughter of Admiral Bligh, and was, with his wife, living near Bath in 1851. [1] [2](1) [3]
