Charles Christopher Cox (born October 16, 1952, in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA) has served as Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since August 3, 2005. He had served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from January 25, 1989 to August 2, 2005, representing a district in southern California.
