Henry Hazzen
(1842–1899)
Professor of literature from 1877 to 1896 at the Mount Carroll Seminary, which later became Shimer College, the Great Books college of Chicago. Noted local orator. Husband of Isabel Dearborn Hazzen, who was principal of the seminary's Conservatory of Music.
