Major-General. D.S.O., F.R.G.S., K.C.B., 1922. Major, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Served N.W. Frontier, India, 1897-1898; South Africa, 1899-1900; Somaliland, 1903-1904; British Mission to Fez, 1905. Editor of The Science of War.[1] General Officer Commanding in Malaya, 1921-1924.
This author wrote articles for the 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica.
