Canadian Senator. He was appointed to the Canadian Senate on the recommendation of Prime Minister Paul Martin on August 2, 2005. Zimmer was previously a Winnipeg, Manitoba businessman and a philanthropist. He was also a significant fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada.
