| The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit is a federal court with appellate jurisdiction over the federal district courts in the States of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Before 1981, the Fifth Circuit's jurisdiction also included the States of Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, which are now covered by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. |
