# Means Number if written + (Plus) Addition
  before a figure, as #40; (Minus) Subtraction
  but Pounds if written × (By or times)
  after, as 40#   Multiplication
Check-Mark; Radical Sign ÷ (Divided by) Division
(Ditto.) Meaning the = (Equality) Equals
