Catullus 26 (Wikisource translation)
by Catullus
Literal English Translation Original Latin Line

Furius, your little farmhouse is not placed against
the blowing of the South wind nor the West
nor the raging North or the East,
but truly against fifteen thousand and two hundred.
What a horrible and pestilent wind!

Furi, villula vestra non ad Austri flatus
opposita est neque ad Favoni
nec saevi Boreae aut Apheliotae,
verum ad milia quindecim et ducentos.
O ventum horribilem atque pestilentem!
