My woman says that she prefers to marry no one
rather than me, not even if Jupiter himself should seek her.
She says: but what a woman says to her passionate lover
is fitting to write on the wind and on fast-flowing water.

Nulli se dicit mulier mea nubere malle
quam mihi, non si se Iuppiter ipse petat
dicit: sed mulier cupido quod dicit amanti,
