Albinoni, Thomas, of Venice, was the composer of thirty-three operas for that city, between the years 1694 and 1730 ; he was likewise an excellent performer on the violin, and published in the beginning of the last century, be-sides several vocal productions, nine different works for instruments, chiefly light and easy concertos and sonatas for violins. One of these works is a collection of airs, entitled "Balletti a tee, due Violini e Violoncello col Basso," which became so familiar in England, that most of the common fiddlers of the time were able to play them.
