The election for the town council takes place on Tuesday next. The nomination took place in the clerk's office on Tuesday last. There was no opposition to the present mayor, who was re-elected by acclamation. There are nine names up for councillors. E. Carey and P. Daly dropping of the old council, and A. F. Degagne, C. Gallagher, J. A. McDougall, K. McLeod and Geo. P. Sanderson standing for election.
