Description
Deutsch: Carl Philipp Moritz (1757-1793). Kolorierter Stich von H. Sintzenich, 1793. Der Schriftsteller und Kunsttheoretiker Moritz wurde Goethes "Liebster Gesellschafter" nicht nur in Rom, sondern auch von Dezember bis Januar 1788/89 als Gast in Weimar. Seine 1788 erschienene Abhandlung "Über die bildende Nachahmung des Schönen" war aus der Unterhaltung mit Goethe hervorgegangen und wurde von Goethe zu einem Fünftel in die "Italienische Reise" aufgenommen. Goethe hat Moritzens Ideen mannigfach befruchtet und geordnet, dagegen Moritz' "Prosodie"(1786) bei der Jambenbearbeitung der "Iphigenie" genutzt.
