Notes:   Agaricus appendicularis Bull. (1789) is a synonym of Psathyrella candoleana. The mushroom in Sowerby's illustration has a transient ring, which is not normal for this species, but possible - see the Mushroom Expert entry by M. Kuo (2002), where it is regarded as a species cluster.
