  • Scope and content: This document describes the terrain through which Staff Sergeant Joe R. Hooper passed on 21 February 1968, at the battle of Hue, Republic of Vietnam. Ultimately, Hooper was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. In an extraordinary occurrence, Staff Sergeant Clifford C. Sims of the same company earned the Congressional Medal of Honor on the same day.
