Summary

Description
English: Conjunction of the moon and a star viewed from different points on the earth, from The First Voyage round the World, by Magellan. The ray of the star d is intercepted by the moon c for those who are at a and not for those who are at b for whom it was intercepted when the moon was at e. In principle this can be used to determine the difference of longitude of a and b.
