Europe once more that, as I did with Motley several times and last in 1872, we might enjoy the social cup less copiously, alas, but as heartily as in times of yore, when I learned your english and mended your german. The enclosed photograph I have authenticated for fear you should fail to recognize your sincerely attached friend
