VICTORIA HOCKEY CLUB, WINNIPEG, 1899.

VICTORIA HOCKEY CLUB, WINNIPEG.

THIS club was organized in 1889 and has a unique record, for it has held the championship of its respective league,—Manitoba and N. W. T.—ever since its formation. In 1895–6, the Winnipeg Victorias won the Stanley Cup in Montreal, defeating the Victorias of that City, but lost it to the same team, in Winnipeg, the following season. They are a well balanced aggregation, and are perhaps the best stick handlers and combination players in the world. Their appearance in Montreal draws ten thousand spectators to the Arena Hockey Rink.
