Missing pages[edit]

Somebody reports...

  1. Missing pages 376-377
  2. Pages 378-379 are duplicated
  3. Missing pages 380-381
  4. Page 476 is followed by 577; looks like a printing error?

After careful investigation..... No. 1 -- Not missing but print error(s)

See bottom of page 375 (pos /391). friends is the given word expected to appear at the start of the next page. Indeed the following page's content (pos. /392) starts with the word friends but is labeled 378 when it should be 376. The same end-of-previous matches start-of-next inspection for pos. /393 indicates page 377 is mis-labeled 379 in the original print.

No. 2 -- No duplication since 1 pair is explained away in No. 1

No. 3 -- Not missing but another labeling print error as found in No. 1

No. 4 -- Obviously mislabeled as 577 instead of 477

Different version (edition) of this book.[edit]

This book is an edition of 1677.

I have the text for the edition of 1648.

https://archive.org/details/englishamericanh00gage By the true and-painfull endevours of Thomas Gage, now Preacher of the Word of God at Acris in the County of Kent. Anno Dom. 1648. London, Printed by R. Cotes, and are to be sold by Humphrey Blunden at the Castle in Cornbill and Thomas Williams at the Bible in Little- Britain , 1648.

If possible I could do the text for this version, if anyone is interested. Raúl Gutiérrez (talk) 19:08, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
