Daniel, William Thomas Shave, Q.C., county court judge (circuit No. 11) March, 1867, till 12 April, 1884, joint judge at Leeds for the trial of equity and bankruptcy cases 1875, recorder of Ipswich 1842–8, author of History and Origin of Law Reports, vice-chairman (originator) of the system of the law reports of the Council of Law Reporting 1865–70 member of the Law Digest Commission 1868, contested Tamworth 1859 and 1865, a student of Lincoln's Inn 27 Jan., 1825 (then aged 19), called to the bar 8 Feb., 1830, Q.C. 17 July, 1851, called to the bench 3 Nov., 1851 (eldest son of William Daniel, of Stapenhill, co. Derby); born 17 March, 1806; married 1st, 12 Sept., 1830, Harriet, eldest dau. of John Mayon, Esq., of Coleshill; she died 1838; he married 2ndly, 11 April, 1840, Sarah, only dau. of late Rev. Arthur William Trollope, D.D., head master Christ's Hospital (see Foster's Peerage, B. Kesteven).
