Doyle, Sir Francis Hastings Charles, Bart., D.C.L. Oxon 1877, B.A. Christ Church 1832, M.A. 1867, sometime fellow All Souls', professor of poetry at Oxford 1867–77, went the Northern circuit, receiver-general of customs 1846–69, a commissioner of customs 1869–83, a student of the Inner Temple 11 Oct., 1832 (then aged 22), called to the bar 17 Nov., 1837 (only son of Sir Francis Hastings Doyle, Bart.); born 22 Aug., 1810; married 12 Dec., 1844, Sidney, youngest dau. of late Rt. Hon. Charles Watkin Williams-Wynn; she died 22 Nov., 1867, leaving issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
