Holland, Sir Henry Thurstan, Bart., K.C.M.G., M.P. Midhurst since 1874, B.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1847, from Harrow, legal adviser Colonial Office 1869–70, assistant under-secretary of state for the colonies 1870–4, secretary to Common Law Commission 1855, D.L. Middlesex, J.P. Surrey, went the Northern circuit, a student of the Inner Temple 23 May, 1845, called to the bar 16 Nov., 1849, bencher 28 Jan., 1881 (eldest son of Sir Henry Holland, Bart., M.D.); born 3 Aug., 1825; married 1st. 18 Aug., 1852, Elizabeth Margaret, dau. of Nathaniel Hibbert, Esq., of Munden House, Herts; she died 12 April, 1855; he married 2ndly, 25 Nov., 1858, Margaret Jean, dau. of Sir Charles Edward Trevelyan, Bart., K.C.B., and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
