- ביצה שנולדה ביום טוב —
- בית שמאי אומרין: תאכל.
- ובית הלל אומרין: לא תאכל.
- בית שמאי אומרין: שאור כזית וחמץ ככותבת.
- ובית הלל אומרין: זה וזה כזית.
English Translation[edit]
- An egg that was laid on a Holy Day —
- The House of Shammai say: You may eat [it].
- And the House of Hillel say: You may not eat [it].
- The House of Shammai say: an olive's volume of leavening, and a date's volume of leavened foods, [is forbidden to be eaten on Passover].
- And the House of Hillel say: [for both] this one and that one, an olive's volume [is forbidden to be eaten].
