אבב (fresh, bright, As. abâbu DlW AGl.)

†[אֵב] n. [m.] freshness, fresh green (LagBN207 Inf. ibb; thence concr., cf. Ar. أَبّ‎; above stem & mng. better than √אנב (spring) cf. As. inbu, fruit, Aram. אִנְבֵּהּ (q.v.) DlHA65, Pr114) עֹדֶנּוּ בְאִבֹּו while yet in its freshness (i.e. אָחוּ, reed) Jb 812; concr., pl. green shoots בְּאִבֵּי הַנַּחַל Ct 611 (‖ הֲפָֽרְחָה הַגֶּפֶן הֵנֵצוּ הָֽרִמֹּנִים׃).

אָבִיב n.m. Lv 2,14 coll. (LagBN 207 Inf.) 1. fresh, young ears of barley Ex 931; indef. Lv 214 מִנְחַת בִּכּוּרִים ליהוה א׳ קָלוּי בָּאֵשׁ. 2. הָֽאָבִיב חֹדֶשׁ month of ear-forming, or of growing green, Abib, month of Exodus & passover, Ex 134; 2315; 3418.18 (JE), Dt 161.1 (1st month = c. April = הָרִאשֹׁן, הַחֹדֶשׁ הָר׳ (q.v.) in P; v. Di Ex 122; = postexilic נִיסָן q.v.)
