†[אֵב] n. [m.] freshness, fresh green (Lag^BN207 Inf. ibb; thence concr., cf. Ar. أَبّ‎; above stem & mng. better than √אנב (spring) cf. As. inbu, fruit, Aram. אִנְבֵּהּ (q.v.) Dl^{HA65, Pr114}) עֹדֶנּוּ בְאִבֹּו while yet in its freshness (i.e. אָחוּ, reed) Jb 8¹²; concr., pl. green shoots בְּאִבֵּי הַנַּחַל Ct 6¹¹ (‖ הֲפָֽרְחָה הַגֶּפֶן הֵנֵצוּ הָֽרִמֹּנִים׃).
