RiHWB; so Thes, Ew De, etc.; but Wetzst in De (Germ. ed. 1875) proposes אֱבְיוֹנָה (as fem. of אביון) the poor soul in sense= נִשְׁמָתוֹ הָאֶבְיוֹנָה cf. Symm S, where double translation).

אֵ֫בֶה n.[m.] reed, papyrus (etymology uncertain; = Ar. أَبَاءٌ‎, As. abu DlW, AGI) אֱנִיּוֹת אֵבֶה֑ Jb 926 (craft made of reeds, light & swift, Heliod. Aethiop. X.460 ) = כְּלֵי־גֹמֶא Is 182.

II. אבה (perh. at least formally justified as stem of אָב (cstr. אֲבִי), so Thes (cf. infr.), but existence &. mng. wholly dub.; as real √ BaZMG 1887. 609 ff. Ol§ 123c; acc. to DIWp.22 אבה As. abû = decide, אָב = he who decides; Thes (so RobGes NöZMG xI,737 & cf. Sta§ 186 al.) makes אָב nom. prim. bilit., imitating infant's speech cf. πάππας, pappa, papa (cf. EW§ 106 a); also As. bab JenZA 1886,404) .

אֲבִיאֵל n.pr.m. ( Ēl is (my) father, cf. אביהו & Ph. אבבעל (fem.), also אביבעל; & אבנבעל our father etc.; Abi-ba’al KAT2 355; v. RSSem 45. NöZMG 1888,460 makes אבי here, & in אביהו etc., cstr. but this seems unlikely ; cf. also אליאב etc.; views differ much as to these n.pr. and uniform interpr. is impossible. Cf. in gen. Ol§ 277f). 1.
