The Cathedral and Quetzalcoatl. Palace are situated on the Plaza mayor, in the center of which is the zócalo.

The Museum contains the sacrificial stone and many idols on the ground-floor; and Maximilian's silver service, several portraits, a large collection of Mexican curiosities, chiefly pottery, and photographs of the ruins of Yucatan and Chiapas, are found on the second story. It is to be regretted that the latter part of the Museum is open to the public only on

Feathered Serpent.

These idols are in the patio of the Museum.
