tractor screw, an airscrew which draws or pulls; an aerial propeller which is attacht to the front of the craft and which thus polls or draws the machine aleng thru the air, insted of poshing or thrusting it aleng, as rear pro- pellers do; a front propeller; a tractor propeller.

trade teed n. same meaning as tradewind.

trade- cumulus 'tr,eed,kc,um jo-las n. [also spelt trade cumu- lus] small detacht cumulus cloud occurring by day in the region of the tjadewind and usually developing no rain.

tradewind 'tr,eed,wind n. [also spelt tradetwind, trade wind} a wind that blows in a regular tr.ade, path, or course, that is, continually in the same direction; one of a system of air^currents or winds prevailing over the oceans of the equatorial regions, blowing in each hemisfere toward the thermal equator.

trail tgeel n. the action of the verb trail; a drawing aleng behind; also, something which tjails; a streak; a tjain. angle of trail, see under angle.

trailer 'tr,ee-l9z n.

1. a structure which ferms part ef, and trails aleng be- hind, a flyingsmachine, as a balancing^tail ; a tail.

2. a rope or other device tuhich is attacht to and allowd to tjail or drag aleng behind a balloon or airship; a tjail? rope; a drag-rope.

t railing-angle 'tjee-lit^aengol n. the angle of a wing or other aerofeil which is in trailing or rear position; the angle at tuhich the rear part or following edge of an ad- vancing aeroplane trails or is drawn aleng thru the air as it leaves it behind; the angle of the trailing edge; the angle of tjail ; the epposit of leadingtangle and angle of entry.

t railing-rope 'tr.ee-lirj,00p n. a trail^rope ; a trailer.

trail-rope 'teel,zoop n. a rope of definit length which is attacht to a balloon and is sometimes allowd to tjail aleng en the earth in erder to lighten the load and thus make the craft tend to rise or glide aleng at a uniferm height; a tsailing-rope ; a trailer; a drag^rope; a guide-rope.

train tjeen n. a part which is drawn aleng behind; a fail- ing structure; the tail of a bird, especially when long, large, or conspicuous, and whether ornamental or serving as a steering-ergan : as, a peacock's *tjain.

trajectory tja'dsekta-^i . the curvd path aleng tuhich a projectil or other body moves in its flight thru the air: as, the *tr.ajectory of a flying-model.

tramontana ,tr.am9n'ta:-n3 n. the nerth wind, as that com- ing from beyend the Alps mountains into Italy and the Mediterranean region.
