He died 14th Oct. 1 849, aged 72. ^9 Alfred Ollivant was nominated 29th Oct. 1849, and bona, elected 14th Nov. The royal assent to his election was given inth Nov. 8? . He was confirmed on the 13th of the same month, and consecrated 2nd Dec, and the temporalities were restored to him 9th Jan. 1850.

The arms of the see are thus blazoned : Sable, two crosiers in saltire, or and argent ; in a chief, azure, three mitres with labels of the second.
