Jon.v dk Maydesti \, archdeacon of Bedford, held it in [273; from this dignity succeeded to the deanery in [275 2 ?.

\k eolas Heigham succeeded in [275; likewise from hence was preferred to the deanery in [280 28 .

Simon de Gandavo, or <>i Gaunt, was possessed of it in 1284. Bishop of Salisbury in 1297.

William Sahden held the office w Kal. Marcii (15th Feb.) 1297-8.

Gailhardus de Mota, a Roman cardinal, by papal provision was admitted iii Id. Mar. (13th March) 131 2-13 : void by the death of G. Segrave 31 . He en- joyed it in 1345 3a . He died in 1357 J3 . v/Thomas de Southam was possessed of it in 1368 34 and in 1377". Ho exchanged it, 30th Jan. J403-4, for the archdeaconrv of Berks, in the diocese of Sa- nun, with ^yJonx de Southam, called archdeacon ofOxon ini383 36 , 7\ but he was not admitted until 30th Jan. 1 403-4 i7 ;
