Henry Aldrich, S.T.P., was appointed by letters pa- tent 4th April 1689. an 'l installed 1 7th dune i68y. He died 14th Dee. 171c, and was buried on the 22nd of that month in the cathedral.

Fk.wi 1- Ai 11 iihikv, S.T.P., dean of Carlisle, was no- minated to this deanery 28th Aug. 1711 s4 , vice Dr. Henry Aldrich deceased; and in duly 171? he w - made bishop of Ivochester and dean of Westminster.

Georgi Smalridge, S.T.P., dean of Carlisle, was re- moved to this deanery nth July 1713; and in April 17 14 he waa made bishop of Bristol, with leave to hold this deanery in commendam. Ob. 27th Sept. 1719, Betat. 57.

Hugh Boi 1 n a, S.T.P., archdeacon of Surrey, was made dean of Christ Church and bishop of Bristol 15th Oct. [719, vice Dr.Smalridge deceased. Dr. Boulter * - translated to Armagh in 17-;

William Bradshaw, S.T.P.,a canon of this cathedral, was nominated to the deanery here 29th Aug. 1734 and installed [7th Sept. 17-4- He became bishop of Jhastol in 1724, and held this deanery in commendam by dispensation dated 7th Oct. 1 7 24"" : . He died at Bath 1 6th Dec. 1732, setat. 60.

John Com ui \i;i , S.T.P., rector of Exeter college, was made dean of Christ Church by patent dated 1 2th Jan. 1732-3. He became bishop of Bristol in 1750, and held this deanery in commendam from 6th Dec. i750 ss to his death in July 1755.

David Gregory, S.T.P., was nominated to thi< deanery 7th May 1756, vice Dr. John Coneybeare, bishop of Bristol, deceased b9 . He died 16th Sept. 1767.

William Markham, S.T.P , was nominated to this deanery in Oct. 1767, vice Dr. Gregory deceased. He was promoted to the see of Chester in 1771, and held
