[633 William Juxon, bishop elect of Hereford, was promoted 9 Car. I. to the see of London, and his election confirmed 23rd Oct. 1633. He was consecrated on the 27th of the same month 60 , and enthroned ">th Nov. He was made high treasurer of England oth .March 1635, which office he enjoyed till 1641. He suffered in common with the other bishops during the rebellion, and retired to his manor of Little Compton, in Glou- cestershire. After the restoration he was translated to the Bee of Canterbury, which he obtained 20th Sept. 1660 61 .

buried in the parish church of Pulham. 1675 Hi \itv Compton, youngest son of the earl ofNorth- 1 r " ainpton, was translated from the bishopric of Oxford to that of London iSth Dec. 1675, and confirmed at Chelsea 6th Feb.
