He died in 676, being the seventh year of his presulate^^. 6"] 6 Haedde or Hedd.^, abhot of Whitby^ was the fifth bishop of the West Saxons, and was consecrated at London by archbishop Theodore in 676^1. He re- moved the see from Dorchester to Winchester about the year 6781% and died in 705^3. At his death the bishopric of the West Saxons was again divided into two sees^^, one was placed at Sherborne and the other at WINCHESTER. 705 Daniel was the first bishop of Winchester, and was consecrated in 705^^.
