It is a pity that a valuable inven- tion should be lost by an inadvertence, but the policy of the law is well founded, and it must be carried out. �I find that this invention was "on sale" more than two years before the application, and therefore the patent was void. The patent having been sustained at the first hearing, the complainant should have his costs to the time when the rehearing was ordered.
