He was ordamed Dea- con in 1849 and Priest in 1850, was Government Astronomer of New South Wales 1856-62, when he resigned, Warden of St. Paul's College in the Univer- sity of Sydney 1865-78, Vicar of Gunning N.S.W. 1878, of Queenbeyan 1870, and Bun- gendore 1881, Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Goulburn and Canon of St Saviour's Cathedral Goulburn 1881, retired 1*82.
