The Tenby oyster is large and rather coarse; but when fat is well-flavoured, and excellent when well stewed or pickled. Colchester, and other places in Essex, are the great nurseries or feeding-grounds for supplying the metropolis, and indeed, in a great measure, England generally, with this highly flavoured species.
