Kirkpatrick, appears to ha well adapted to the needs of working housekeepers. The recipes are plain, direct, and comprehensible, and for practicable dishes which may be in common use in the most modest households. They are also abundant in variety. Much pains is taken in the arrangement, and the articles are placed where they would come in a regular course dinner. Many of the recipes have been gathered from practical housekeepers; and of these not a few are original with the ladies and have never before been in print. The practical suggestions are excellent.
