MESSIAH VICTORIOUS

Lift Up your heads
All:
Lift up your heads, ye gates;
And be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors:
And the King of glory will come in,
Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, ye gates;
Yea, lift them up, ye everlasting doors:
And the King of glory will come in.
Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

Hymn Lift Up Your Heads (Tune ' Waltham,' No. 50)

  1. Lift up your heads, ye mighty gates!
    Behold the King of glory waits;
    The King of kings is drawing near;
    The Saviour of the world is here.
  2. O blest the land, the city blest,
    Where Christ the Ruler is confest!
    O happy hearts and happy homes
    To whom this King of triumph comes!
  3. Fling wide the portals of your heart!
    Make it a temple, set apart
    From earthly use for heaven's employ,
    Adorned with prayer and love and joy.
  4. Redeemer, come! I open wide
    My heart to thee: here, Lord, abide!
    Let me thy inner presence feel :
    Thy grace and love in me reveal. Amen.
George Weissel, 1642
Translated by Catherine Winkworth, 1855

Prayer (Seated)
Beneditction
Now the god of peace who brought again from the dead
Our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep
Make us perfect in every good work to do his will,
Working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight,
Through Jesus Christ;
To whom the glory for ever and ever.Amen.
