Dicken; entered service, 1857; Postmaster General, Punjab, 1863; Bombay, 1867; Bengal, 1868; Deputy Dir-General of Post Offices, India, 1869; Dir-General, 1880; retired, 1889; was a partner in the firm of Messrs. Hogg, Curtis, Campbell and Co., London; Prizeman in swimming at Eton and Haileybury; Captain of term four-oar boat while at College.
