Roy, Maharaja, Kshannish Chandra, Krishnagar, Nuddia; b. 1890; s. of late Maharaja Bahadur Kshitish Chandra Roy; educ: privately; created Maharaja, 1911; accorded the privilege of private entry by H.E. the Viceroy; 8th in descent from Kishen Chandra who rendered conspicuous service to Lord Clive against Suraj-ud-doula. Address: Krishnagar, Bengal Presidency, India.

Royle, Joseph Ralph Edward John, C.S.I. (1886); e.s. of Dr. John Forbes Royle, F.R.S.; b. London, 1884; educ: King’s College, London, and Military College, Addiscombe; joined ser ice in the Army (107th Regiment), 1862; fell seriously ill and resigned his post, 1867; married twice; was Secretary of the Indian Commission, Vienna Exhibition, 1873; Superintendent, Indian Museum, 1874-79; Superintendent, Statistical Department, India Office, London, 1879-91; Commissioner for the Government of India in the Exhibition at Amsterdam, 1883; Assistant Secretary to Royal Commission at Colonial and Indian Exhibition. 1886; Curator, Indian and Ceylon sections of Imperial Institute, 1891-1903. Address: Bella Vista, Hillcrest Road, Hythe, Kent.

Rudrapratap Sah, Raja; b. 1860; succeeded to title, 1867; has done much to revive Indian Theology and Indian arts and industries; maintains an Ayurvedic Hospital; member, first Public Services Commission; estate comprises 105 villages in Sultanpur, 68 in Fyzabad, 8 in Rae Bareli and 1 in Jaunpur; title of Raja recognised as hereditary, 1877. Address: Dera Sultanpur, U.P., India.

Rukmangal Singh, Raja; b. 1886; nephew of late Raja Haradas Baksha Singh, C.S.I., whose name was specially mentioned by Lord Canning in the famous Proclamation of 1858; succeeded to estate, 1906; installed on the gaddi, 1907; 6th in the list of Provincial Durbaris; received a Certificate of Honour for his splendid work in connection with the famine of 1907-8; has made liberal contributions to the Allahabad University Building Fund, the Muir Central College, and the Central Hindu College, Benares; built the Edward Kshatriya Boarding House and also a poor house at Hardoi; President, Hardoi Kshatriya Sabha; Member, British Indian Association of Oudh, 1908. Runbhir Singh, Hon’ble Sir Kunwar, K.C.S.I. (1903); b. 1873; m. the daughter of Sirdar Lehna singh of Karamgarh in Patiala;' uncle of H.H. the Maharaja of Patiala; Member, Imperial Legislative Council. Address: Patiala, India.
