Legislative Council, 1904; and 1906-1909; one of the Secre taries of the MacDonnell Boarding House, Allahabad; Offg. Additional Judicial Commissioner, Oudh, 1909; Vice-Chairman, U.P. Exhibition, 1910-11; Vice-Chancellor, Allahabad University, 1906-08 and 1912-14; acting Judicial Commissioner for 5 months; Judge, High Court, N.W.P.. 1914; owner of the largest private library in the Province; prominently connected with the establishment of the University School of Law and the Hindu University, Benares; nominated as an Additional Member, Imperial Legislative Council, 1915: resigned his seat in the U.P. Sundrarama Ayyer, Kadambi, M.A., Kumbakonam; b. 1854; B.A., 1874; joined service as 2nd master, Zillah School, Tellicherry, 1877; joined the Government College, Kumbakonam, as 7th Assistant, 1887; passed M.A. the same year; 2nd Assistant Lecturer, Kumbakoriam College, 1886; acting 1st Assistant Lecturer, of the same College, 1S86; acting 2nd Lecturer, Rajamundry College, 1888; entered Provincial Educational Service, 1897; Lecturer, VII class, 1902; VI class sub pro tem., 1904; acting Professor of History, Presidency College, Madras, 1905; rose to V class, 1905; retired, 1906; Presided at the Sanatana Dharma Conference held at Nellore, 1915. Address: Kumbakonam, Madras Presidency.

Sundara Rao, Thandalam, B.A., Rao Bahadur, (1911); b. 1853; educ: at the Government College, Kumbakonam; s. of late Mr. T. Gopal Rao, Principal of the Kumbakonam College; Member of the Indian and London Mathematical Associations; entered Government service in the Revenue department, 1874; rose to the position of Deputy Collector. Recreations: Billiards, Cycling, and Riding. Publications: Geometrical Exercises in paper folding; Elementary Solid Geometry. Address: Trichinopoly, S. India.

Sunth, Maharana of; Raja Shri Jorawar Sinhji Pratab Sinhgi; b. 1881; succeeded to gaddi, 1896; Claims descent from King Vikarama of Malva; area of the State, 394 sq. miles; population, 40,000; Revenue, about 1¼ lakhs; pays a tribute of Rs. 5,30O.
