Public Law 99-350 99th Congress Joint Resolution To designate the week beginning July 27, 1986, as "National Nuclear Medicine Week".
Whereas professionals in the field of nuclear medicine contribute significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of patients in the United States; Whereas nuclear medicine is a safe and cost-effective t5rpe of medical care; Whereas the techniques of nuclear medicine are used to diagnose and treat many different diseases; Whereas the techniques of nuclear medicine are used in a variety of scientific research activities; and Whereas it is appropriate to recognize the value of nuclear medicine and the contributions of professionals in the field of nuclear medicine: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the week beginning July 27, 1986, hereby is designated "National Nuclear Medicine Week", and the President of the United States is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe such week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
