(2) Seven members of the Commission shall constitute a quorum, but a lesser number may hold hearings. (e) TERMINATION DATE.—The Commission shall terminate on the date on which a report is required to be transmitted by subsection (c), except that the Commission may continue to function for not more than thirty days thereafter for the purpose of concluding its activities. Section 242 (8 U.S.C. 1254) is amended by adding at the end the 8 USC 1252. following new subsection: "(i) In the case of an alien who is convicted of an offense which makes the alien subject to deportation, the Attorney General shall begin any deportation proceeding as expeditiously as possible after the date of the conviction.". v SEC. 702.
