104 STAT. 752 PUBLIC LAW 101-391—SEPT. 25, 1990 (d) EFFECTIVE DATE. —The provisions of this section shall take effect on the first day of the first fiscal year that begins after the expiration of the 425-day period that begins on the date of the publication in the Federal Register of the master list referred to in section 28(b) of the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 (as added by section 3 of this Act). 15 USC 2201 SEC. 7. WAIVER OF FEDERAL LIABILITY. °°• In any action for damages resulting from a fire at a place of public accommodation, the Federal Government may not be found liable for the death of or injury to any person or damage to any property because an officer or employee of the Federal Government was negligent in carrying out any requirement under this Act or the amendments made by this Act. 15 USC 2201 SEC. 8. EFFECT ON CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to encourage model building code organizations, or State or local governments, to reduce requirements for fire resistive walls or other safety features.
