SUPERVISORY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS For grants pursuant to sections 509(g)(6) and 525 of the Housing Act of 1949, $2,500,000, to remain available until expended. RURAL COMMUNITY FIRE PROTECTION GRANTS , For grants pursuant to section 7 of the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978 (Public Law 95-313), $3,500,000 to fund up to 50 per centum of the cost of organizing, training, and equipping rural volunteer fire departments. COMPENSATION FOR CONSTRUCTION DEFECTS For compensation for construction defects as authorized by section 509(c) of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended, $500,000, to remain available until expended. RURAL HOUSING PRESERVATION GRANTS For grants for rural housing preservation as authorized by section 552 of the Housing and Urban-Rural Recovery Act of 1983 (Public Law 98-181), $23,000,000. r^ v^^ri^rr RURAL DEVELOPMENT GRANTS . ^ For grants authorized under sections 310B(c) and 310B(j) (7 U.S.C. 1932) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act to any qualified public or private nonprofit organization, $42,500,000: Provided, That $500,000 shall be available for grants to qualified nonprofit organizations to provide technical assistance and training for rural communities needing improved passenger transportation systems or facilities in order to promote economic development. ^. ,, . SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT GRANTS For grants for pollution abatement and control projects authorized under section 310B(b) (7 U.S.C. 1932) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act, $3,000,000: Provided, That such assistance shall include regional technical assistance for improvement of solid waste management. EMERGENCY COMMUNITY WATER ASSISTANCE GRANTS For emergency community water assistance grants as authorized under section 306B (7 U.S.C. 1926b) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act, $10,000,000. OUTREACH FOR SOCIALLY DISADVANTAGED FARMERS For grants and contracts pursuant to section 2501 of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act of 1990 (7 U.S.C. 2279), $3,000,000, to remain available until expended. OFFICE OF THE ADMINISTRATOR For necessary salaries and expenses of the Ofdce of the Administrator of the Farmers Home Administration, $600,000: Provided, That no other funds in this Act shall be available for this Office.
