PUBLIC LAW 104-106—FEB. 10, 1996 110 STAT. 371 SEC. 702. CORRECTION OF INEQUITIES IN MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE AND DEATH AND DISABILITY BENEFITS FOR CER- TAIN RESERVES. (a) MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE. —Section 1074a(a) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new paragraph: "(3) Each member of the armed forces who incurs or aggravates an injury, illness, or disease in the line of duty while remaining overnight, between successive periods of inactiveduty training, at or in the vicinity of the site of the inactiveduty training, if the site is outside reasonable commuting distance from the member's residence.". (b) RECOVERY, CARE, AND DISPOSITION OF REMAINS.— Section 1481(a)(2) of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subparagraph (C), by striking out "or" at the end of the subparagraph; (2) by redesignating subparagraph (D) as subparagraph (E); and (3) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph: "(D) remaining overnight, between successive periods of inactive-duty training, at or in the vicinity of the site of the inactive-duty training, if the site is outside reasonable commuting distance from the member's residence; or". (c) ENTITLEMENT TO BASIC PAY.— (1) Subsection (g)(1) of section 204 of title 37, United States Code, is amended— (A) in subparagraph (B), by striking out "or" at the end of the subparagraph; (B) in subparagraph (C), by striking out the period at the end of the subparagraph and inserting in lieu thereof "; or"; and (C) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph: "(D) in line of duty while remaining overnight, between successive periods of inactive-duty training, at or in the vicinity of the site of the inactive-duty training, if the site is outside reasonable commuting distance from the member's residence.". (2) Subsection (h)( 1) of such section is amended— (A) in subparagraph (B), by striking out "or" at the end of the subparagraph; (B) in subparagraph (C), by striking out the period at the end of the subparagraph and inserting in lieu thereof "; or"; and (C) by inserting after subparagraph (C) the following new subparagraph: "(D) in line of duty while remaining overnight, between successive periods of inactive-duty training, at or in the vicinity of the site of the inactive-duty training, if the site is outside reasonable commuting distance from the member's residence.". (d) COMPENSATION FOR INACTIVE-DUTY TRAINING.— Section 206(a)(3) of title 37, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subparagraph (A), by striking out "or" at the end of clause (ii); (2) in subparagraph (B), by striking out the period at the end of the subparagraph and inserting in lieu thereof "; or"; and
