PUBLIC LAW 106-377—APPENDIX A 114 STAT. 1441A -39 OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL For necessary expenses of the Office of Inspector General in carrying out the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, $5,000,000, which shall be available for obligation through September 30, 2002. ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISION The Department of Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development, and Independent Agencies Appropriations Act, 2000 (Public Law 106—74) is amended under the heading "Corporation for National and Community Service, National and Community Service Programs Operating Expenses" in title III by reducing to $229,000,000 the amount available for grants under the National Service Trust program authorized under subtitle C of title I of the National and Community Service Act of 1990 (the "Act") (with a corresponding reduction to $40,000,000 in the amount that may be used to administer, reimburse, or support any national service program authorized under section 121(d)(2) of the Act), and by increasing to $33,500,000 the amount available for quality and innovation activities authorized under subtitle H of title I of the Act, with the increase in subtitle H funds made available to provide a grant covering a period of 3 years to support the "P.AV.E. the Way" project described in House Report 106-379. COURT OF APPEALS FOR VETERANS CLAIMS SALARIES AND EXPENSES For necessary expenses for the operation of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims as authorized by 38 U.S.C. 7251-7298, $12,445,000, of which $895,000 shall be available for the purpose of providing financial assistance as described, and in accordance with the process and reporting procedures set forth, under this heading in Public Law 102-229. DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE—CIVIL CEMETERIAL EXPENSES, ARMY SALARIES AND EXPENSES For necessary expenses, as authorized by law, for maintenance, operation, and improvement of Arlington National Cemetery and Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery, including the purchase of two passenger motor vehicles for replacement only, and not to exceed $1,000 for official reception and representation expenses, $17,949,000, to remain available until expended.
