For defraying the expenses of the removal and subsistence of Indians in California to reservations in that State, and for pay of the necessary employees, fifty thousand dollars: Provided, That the Secretary of the Culiforniamay Interior may divide the State of California into two Indian districts, and l’;0d;‘£;g Q'; that the President of the United States, by and withthe advice and con- mm, sent of the Senate, shall appoint a superintending agent for each district, PM P- 630- at a salary of thirty-six hundred dollars per annum, who, upon executing s¤pm·i¤mnda bond upon such terms and in such sum and security as the Secretary of $,2;;, §:l"y* the Interior may prescribe, shall have under his control and management, ` as the Secretary may prescribe, the Indians and reservations in their separate respective districts.
