(b) PAYMENTS INTO THE FUND.—Section 1466(a) of such title is amended— (1) in paragraph (1)(B), by striking ‘‘by members’’ and all that follows and inserting ‘‘for active duty (other than the Coast Guard) and for full-time National Guard duty (other than full-time National Guard duty for training only), but excluding the amount expected to be paid for any duty that would be excluded for active-duty end strength purposes by section 115(i) of this title’’; and (2) in paragraph (2)(B)— (A) by striking ‘‘Ready Reserve’’ and inserting ‘‘Selected Reserve’’; and (B) by striking ‘‘Coast Guard and other than members on full-time National Guard duty other than for training) who are’’ and inserting ‘‘Coast Guard) for service’’. (c) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall take effect on October 1, 2007.

SEC. 592. REVISION IN GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTIONS TO MEDICAREELIGIBLE RETIREE HEALTH CARE FUND.
(a) MEDICARE-ELIGIBLE RETIREE HEALTH CARE FUND.—Section 1111 of title 10, United States Code, is amended— (1) in subsection (a), by striking ‘‘of the Department of Defense’’ and inserting ‘‘of the uniformed services’’; and (2) in subsection (b), by adding at the end the following new paragraph: ‘‘(5) The term ‘members of the uniformed services on active duty’ does not include a cadet at the United States Military Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, or the Coast Guard Academy or a midshipman at the United States Naval Academy.’’. (b) DETERMINATION OF CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE FUND.—Section 1115 of such title is amended— (1) in subsection (b)— (A) in paragraph (1)(B), by striking ‘‘on active duty’’ and all that follows through ‘‘training only)’’ and inserting the following: ‘‘on active duty and full-time National Guard duty, but excluding any member who would be excluded for active-duty end strength purposes by section 115(i) of this title’’; and (B) in paragraph (2)(B)— (i) by striking ‘‘Ready Reserve’’ and inserting ‘‘Selected Reserve’’; and
