‘‘(19) any additional payment u nder chapter 5 of title 3 7, U nited S tates C ode, or otherwise designated by the Secretary to be appropriate for e x clusion under this paragraph, that is recei v ed by or from a member of the United States A rmed F orces deployed to a designated combat z one, if the additional pay — ‘‘(A) is the result of deployment to or service in a combat zone; and ‘‘( B ) was not received immediately prior to serving in a combat zone . ’’. SEC.4102 .S TR E NG T H EN I NG THE FO O DPU RCH A SING PO W ER OF L OW - INCO M E AMERICANS. Section 5(e)(1) of the Food and N utrition Act of 20 08 (7 U.S.C. 201 4 (e)(1)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (A)(ii), by striking ‘‘not less than $ 134’’ and all that follows through the end of the clause and inserting the following: ‘‘not less than— ‘‘( I ) for fiscal year 2009, $144, $24 6 , $203, and $127, respectively; and ‘‘(II) for fiscal year 2010 and each fiscal year thereafter, an amount that is e q ual to the amount from the previous fiscal year ad j usted to the nearest lower dollar increment to reflect changes for the 12 - month period ending on the preceding J une 30 in the Consumer P rice Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of L abor Statistics of the D epartment of Labor, for items other than food.’’; (2) in subparagraph (B)(ii), by striking ‘‘not less than $269’’ and all that follows through the end of the clause and inserting the following: ‘‘not less than— ‘‘(I) for fiscal year 2009, $289; and ‘‘(II) for fiscal year 2010 and each fiscal year thereafter, an amount that is equal to the amount from the previous fiscal year adjusted to the nearest lower dollar increment to reflect changes for the 12-month period ending on the preceding June 30 in the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the Department of Labor, for items other than food.’’; and (3) by adding at the end the following: ‘‘(C) REQUIR E M E NT .— E ach adjustment under subpara- graphs (A)(ii)(II) and (B)(ii)(II) shall be based on the unrounded amount for the prior 12-month period.’’. SEC. 410 3 . SUPPORTING WOR K ING FAMILIES WITH CHILD CARE E X PENSES.
