Sept. 23, considered and passed Ho u se. ‘ ‘ (1)AUTHORIZA TIO N O F A P PROPRIATION S.—Forthepu rpo s e o fca rr ying out this section , there are authori z e d to b e appro - priated— ‘‘(A) $ 1 20 ,000,000 for fisca l year 200 8; and ‘‘( B ) for each of fiscal years 200 9 through 201 3 , the a m ount authorized for the preceding fiscal year increased by the percentage increase in the C onsumer P rice I nde x for all urban consumers for such year. ‘‘(2) A L LO C ATION.— ‘‘(A) PRO G RA M A D MINISTRATION.— O f the amounts appropriated under paragraph (1) for a fiscal year, the S ecretary may reser v eupto 5 percent for coordination, dissemination, technical assistance, and data activities that are determined by the Secretary to be appropriate for car- rying out the program under this section. ‘‘(B) EV ALUATION.—Of the amounts appropriated under paragraph (1) for a fiscal year, the Secretary may reserve up to 1 percent for evaluations of pro j ects carried out under subsection (a). Each such evaluation shall include a determination of w hether such projects have been effec- tive in reducing the disparity in health status between the general population and individuals who are members of racial or ethnic minority groups. ’ ’.
